The designer behind mymoodmydesign brand is Ilaria Gelosa, an independent creative who studied first in Milano, for her Industrial Design degree at Politecnico in 2003, and then in Torino, for a Master at IED in 2005. In her following job experiences she also touched different "worlds", switching from product to nautical design, from graphic design to fairs and exhibitions outfitting. Some of her projects have been showcased at Fuorisalone Milano and in different exhibitions on reuse design, food design and design in all its forms. Her Allestire l'acqua project was selected for XX Compasso d'Oro progetto giovane.

"In recent years - Ilaria explains - I got into independent and self-produced design and entered this world with some creations". It's not, however, an exclusive choice: "Self-production and independent design always fascinated me, being able to make products out of mass production rules, in little numbers and as a craftsman, gives me a big drive but it's still just a part of my work, not the only one, not its fulcrum. It's a part of a bigger set which includes design in all its different forms and relations".

For her projects, Ilaria takes inspiration "From everything around me. My mind is always in motion, I like to know and observe and quite often what's in front of me - changing its context, use, materials and size - becomes a new potential project".

Speaking of materials, Ilaria tells that "I really love to use wood, I grew up with wood, touching and smelling it. My father was a carpenter and he transmitted to me his knowledge, love and bond with this material, making me love it and work with it".

Ilaria doesn't have a specific project she loves most ("I have a bond with all of them, they all are a part of me, I like to see them appreciated, worn and lived") but "If we must look at the least instinctive side of my relationship with them I'd say that Doppler is for sure the most 'important' product: it had the most articles and exhibitions and this year it was part of an independent design selection and exhibited at Fuorisalone Milano".

We always ask our Makers about their future projects, Ilaria has many things in store: "New products, new lines, new ideas are taking shape, everything is in flux, nothing is static and nothing is finished. You'll see developments for products already on sale and new ones will arrive".
