Mark your calendars for Source – the Self-made design exhibit in Florence from September 12 to 19, 2013, at the Limonaia di Villa Strozzi. 8 days dedicated to self made design with an exhibition where there will be 40 Italian and international designers and also workshops, events and seminars.

Source focuses on objects and creations and also works of designers who directly invent and realize their products creating new scenarios between creativity and production. A path far away from industrial production – but to which the industry should give credit - that rediscovers the handcraft creations with a look to the future and the new technologies.

The event is organised by the cultural association Altrove and Roberto Rubini with the patronage of The City of Florence and the Region of Tuscany; MakeTank is a partner of this initiative.

Want to learn how to take product photos like this?

Of particular relevance to MakeTank vendors is the opportunity to participate to our free workshop (here is the agenda) on Friday September 13 from 18.00 to 20.00. It will teach you about the right channels to sell your products, how to write down the perfect Product description, what is the right price, which Social channels are the best to promote and sell, how to mix web channels and traditional press office, if participating to design contest is useful to promote yourself, etc.

Is not a chance that MakeTank workshop is scheduled in the middle of a practical workshop on product photography held by photographer Maurizio Picci to teach designers how to photograph their work to help it sell on e-commerce. The workshop (here is the program) lasts two days, September 13 and 14, and costs only €30, which is an incredible deal! Secure your spot immediately by emailing ALTROVE associazione culturale –

The exhibit of designs will be open to the public every day from 5-8pm and is FREE. Information on Source website.
